The library is a structural subdivision of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev, which ensures the creation of a modern information environment for the educational process and research activities of the Academy, the implementation of information and communication technologies in the library environment, the activation of the use of electronic resources in the Academy’s education system with the aim of modernizing library technologies, expanding access to various types of information, and providing a qualitatively new level of information services to users of the KSMA library.
The library collection contains more than 620,000 items. various documents, the majority of which are medical textbooks.
The library provides services to readers at 7 circulation desks, in 6 reading rooms with 278 seats in the main building, in the dental center, in the morphological building, in the 4th academic building, and in 3 electronic resource rooms. Every year, library staff serve more than 215,000 users and issue more than 360,000 different types of publications.
